Six Tips Before Popping Champagne

If you have special plans or parties to attend in 2015 that will require toasting, here are six tips to remember:
1.) Mentally prepare what you are going to say ahead of time so you don’t fumble over your words. Remember that a toast should be short and sweet.
2.) Don’t clink your glass with a spoon, knife or fork. Your guests might have crystal stemware that can’t handle the pressure.
3.) The host toasts first by standing and raising his or her glass. The guests should respond by taking a sip of their drinks. When raising your glass, keep it at eye level.
4.) The person being toasted does not drink to himself.
5.) After the toast, the person who is being toasted rises, shakes the hand of the person who just toasted him or her, or gives a hug and says “thank you”.
6.) Remember to have eye contact with each person at the table before you take a sip of your beverage.
